Highs and Lows
I have a love hate relationship with the high low hem line. I think it’s a good way to show off your gams or a fabulous pair of shoes but it’s also a little awkward. I’m always conscious to make sure my skirt isn’t tucked into my stockings or what have you and I this style kind of reminds me of that unfortunate fashion blunder. Not that it has actually happened to…

2013 BET Awards
Last night was the star-studded BET Awards show in Los Angeles. The ladies represented! They all looked so beautiful. There were definitely some beauty trends, hair and styles I’d like to try this summer.
Janelle Monae is truly in a league of her own. This cover girl always looks exquisite and is exemplary of staying true to your own style.
Ciara– I had to do a double take when I saw her. I didn’t realize it was the R&B songstress. She looked amazing! I really liked her cute cropped blonde ‘do. This two piece leather Saint Laurent ensemble was perfect for the occasion.
Meagan Good- Do I need to say anymore?! From her glowing skin, remarkable smile and cute pixie hair it would’ve been very difficult for her to not look like a million bucks. The dress is sexy and fits her like a glove. Meaghan was definitely one of my favorites of the night.
Gabrielle Union looked super stunning and fit in her strapless gown. She and her NBA champion bf (Dwayne Wade) made a perfect pair.
Who do you think had the best look of the night?
My Summer Beauty Must Haves!
Hot Summer Days
I’m not sure if the sweltering temperatures we’ve had would technically constitute as a heat wave but it sure feels like it. This is the one time I do not mind being in my (air-conditioned) office. Luckily the warm weather has given me the opportunity to wear my cute summer frocks which I had waited so patiently to wear. Knowing that floral and bright colors are on trend I opted to wear this color blocked dress. I like that it looks like I could be wearing a top and skirt but I’m actually comfortably wearing one article of clothing on this sizzling day.
It’s definitely a Froyo kind of day. What are some of your favorite treats to help you beat the heat?

Activity Planning
I’m looking forward to a night of painting and sipping cocktails. While my artistic abilities are limited I tried to convey my kind of artistry through my ‘fit. This look is perfect for day and evening. The sweater provides coverage from the blustery Ac at work. Later on I can slip it off and show off my dress. Unfortunately I didn’t get photos of the back of it and the darling keyhole opening in the back. I thought the necklace was a nice pop of color and it resembles (in my opinion) a piece of art.
