Tomorrow we’re supposed to get a substantial snowfall. I’m not looking forward to wearing my snow gear. I’m praying that the meteorologists flubbed on their predictions and it won’t be so bad. I think snow is pretty to look at initially and then it becomes a slushy mess. Yuck. Mother Nature has been kind to us so I guess we are overdue for snow. Today, I embraced the clean, visible sidewalks, and overall decent weather by wearing these over the knee brown leather boots and this cute orange and chocolate combination. I wish I got a close up of this top. It’s navy blue and white. It has ruffles going down the front of the shirt but this dress only reveals the ruffles at the top. So cute!

Red
At the risk of looking like a huge stop sign I wore this blazer. I had fussed over what to wear it with and thought that since it’s such a powerful color that it could stand on its own. I wore these plain gray cargo pants and black top because they offer a casual look. The red blazer gives them oomph and makes for an exciting outfit. Red is such a statement color. Lately I’ve seen blazers of different colors, textures and patterns. I think moving forward in 2012 that we will see more of this trend.

Beckham, Burberry, and Ear Muffs – Oh My!
David Beckham bares it all….Well not all of it. Don’t get too excited. Beckham has collaborated with H&M to complete a collection of pajamas and underwear for men. How exciting! Not only did he model for the campaign but he also designed it. Sales of the collection begin Feb. 1 online. Make sure you get the special man in your life these Beckham approved skivvies.
Burberry has released a sneak preview of their Spring 2012 campaign. Trenchs, trenches, and trenches are the focus. I like that the coats are structured and will wrap around one’s body like a glove. I also like how their designs are classic with an unexpected dose of spice. The designs continue to have that Burberry signature feel but have evolved with the times. I think that this collection will yield a lot of versatility.
I had to share this super easy and cute DIY project I saw on PS I Made This.
I don’t particularly like to wear hats but I like to stay warm. These ear muffs a perfection! I really like the wine color which is perfect for the season and looks good on all complexions. It won’t cost much to make these either. You probably have most of these materials lying around at home. You don’t have to use faux fur. You can try whatever material you want.
A New Year A New Perspective!
It’s the last friday of the year which is bitter-sweet. I am looking back on the year and reflecting on the things that I’ve accomplished and have yet to do. My resolution aren’t specific goals but are more general goals. I hope to be more optimistic and to be instinctive. I feel that this will be conducive to my productivity and will make me happier. Honestly, I didn’t do too much this past year. I feel like a bit of a slacker so next year I’m turning it up a few notches and plan to “seize the day”.
What are your resolutions?
And btw, I hope you all have a great New Year’s eve. Be safe!

Operation: Beat the Freeze
Today’s objective was to stay warm. Thus, I’m wearing my striped wool sweater, corduroy pants, and scarf. I decided to clothe myself in warm and soft items. Why no socks? I don’t know. My loafers fit better without them.

H& M – Spring Looks
The colors put me under a trance. I like the classic designs matched with great colors. I know that some people find black and gray to be the most flattering colors but I like colors that warm up your skin tone. Blazers, shorts, billowy tops, and floral prints will reign supreme this Spring in their collection.
Feather Mani
These are some funky nails. I haven’t seen anything like it before. This looks easy enough for me to pull off without goofing up. I guess feathers are in. I always see the feather extensions in the store but I’m too scared to buy them. If I do buy them and don’t like them I can use them on my nails…Waste not, want not.
Earring Cuffs
As seen in the Zoe Report, these earring cuffs are neat and extremely affordable. You can buy them here. They give the look of multiple piercings but there is no pain. I like the idea of being able to put them on when I’m feeling like a punk or daring and then getting rid of them when I’m not in the mood.
Steve Madden Shoes – Resort Collection
Lately, I’ve been crushing on cute shoes. These are no exception. I’m big on heels. I think they look glam and they dress up any outfit. These are fun sandals for a winter getaway. I have seen women wearing sandals with tights lately. If it’s not too cold or wet out this could be a good look to consider.
Living In Color
As a girl I loved pink. I was obsessed with everything pink. Wearing it gave me such pleasure. But people began to whisper about us. They were unable to accept what we had. My obsession grew out of control and I had to end my tawdry affair with the color. It’s been a few years and somehow it has managed to creep back into my life. I never stopped loving it just because I didn’t wear it. Wearing it now makes me feel nostalgic. I am wiser and older hopefully I don’t let it rule my life again. I’ll proceed with caution. But I must confess that wearing pink has never felt so good.

Purrfection
Initially I felt like Peg Bundy(minus the big hair)when I realized that I was wearing multiple articles of clothing containing cheetah patterns. I quickly got over it when I considered that Peg Bundy wouldn’t wear knee highs or a sleek high ponytail. But I do give her props for fearlessly wearing spandex leggings and for always wearing sky-high peep toes. I can’t talk about Married with Children without mentioning Kelly Bundy. I remember watching that show when I younger and wanting her sexy rocker look or maybe it was more like sexy rocker groupie. Either way I envied her cool style.

PRADA SS12 Tokyo Event
Under the bright lights of the city of Tokyo, Prada unveiled its Spring / Summer 2012 collection. The industrial scene, suped-up cars, ladylike designs and dapper men’s collection are all reminiscent of the 50s. I loved the sleek hair styles that the women donned and golfer hats that the men sported. So many intricate patterns were used in these designs. It really reminds me of a time long ago but the embellishments, colors, and sleek styles garnered a modern collection.
The link below will lead you to a recap of the event from several bloggers that were lucky enough to be invited to attend the event. It’s interesting to see this from the eye of a spectator.
Other big news for Prada - They have recently announced the opening of its newest store in Lenox Square, Atlanta.
Style Rewind
It’s amazing the way styles repeat themselves. I sent a few of my coworkers down memory lane with this outfit. Some of them recalled wearing similar attire when they were younger and that this was the look that most girls wanted. When I saw this dress in the store, I was drawn to it because of the vintage/ old school vibes it gave me. I threw my hair up in a bun to keep in tune with the style. I added this necklace that I got while in the Bahamas earlier this year. I think it was an unexpected twist that gave my outfit a modern finish.
