Sun-day!

03.04.13a

Yesterday I wore this outfit out to brunch. I thought about wearing sweats but I quickly reconsidered my options and opted for this equally relaxed look. After eating so much I still felt comfy in my clothes and not like I was going to burst out of them.  Wearing the vest was a very strategic move. It concealed my stuffed belly as I ate, ate and ate… Anywho-  It was truly a beauty of a day.  The sun was out and the air was crisp. It totally looked warmer than it actually was outside but it was still a pleasant day nonetheless. I hope you all got out and enjoyed the weekend!

It’s Not Easy Being Green

I’m not big on the color green but it seems to be a big factor in this outfit. I like the super long length of these pants. They make me feel lean and make my legs appear endless. Whenever I wear this sweater it makes me think of Christmas and winter. If I’m feeling a little blue it gets me into the holiday spirit in no time. I added this yellow checkered shirt to add color to my look and liven it up a bit.

Hope you all are having a great beginning to your week.

Wearing the Pants

I think I’ve mentioned before that I have a fascination with skirts and dresses. As of late, I’ve tried to merge pants into my wardrobe. Not only because of the weather but also because I feel that pants can give a oufit a sleek and smart look. Sometimes I find pants to be too serious and confining but these pants (Material Girl)  are a little different. I like the pattern and the flattering fit (I attribute that to the bit of spandex incorporated in these pants). These are fun and have good range. I can dress them up or make them a bit more casual.

On another note, I’m impressed with the Material Girl collection. While the line is fresh and youthful, I manged to spot some pieces that won’t make me look like I’m trying to be a teenager. Yay!

Ode to Black and Brown

They say you should never be together and that you are a faux pas. However, to me you are a flawless fit. You create the most tasteful ensembles. How can anyone resist the sultry shades chocolate, caramel and mocha draped in black so richly colored? I praise you for your valor; sticking together through the clamor. As I enjoy the forbidden fruits in life, too. Black and brown long live together
