Expecting and the Unexpected

Here is a fearless Beyoncé Knowles rocking leopard leggings. I guess you can’t let being pregnant stand in the way of looking gorgeous. Jessica Simpson is also making a statement with her fashion choices while pregnant these days that still oozes sex appeal. I think even Mariah Carey dared to wear her trademark stilettos while pregnant.

Do you see anything wrong with these ladies still trying to look hot while in their fragile state?

Wardrobe Staple

Generally, I find it a little challenging to get dressed for work. I want to be able to show my personality but still keep my attire work friendly. I’m also in my late 20s and want to look youthful but not like I’m trying to be too young. On the other hand, I also want to look sophisticated but not older than my age. Today I found it especially hard to get dressed since I had to wake up earlier than usual. My go to piece when I don’t have any inspiration  is a skirt. They are easy to wear and I was always feel feminine and confident when I wear one. A little strange, huh?  In the summer I like to feel the rustling of the fabric and the warmth from the sun on my legs. In the winter I like wearing tights and dressing up my legs. That’s actually the best way to fake perfect legs. You can’t see any bruises, marks or any other unsightly things.

So, tell me what is your go to piece when getting dressed when you’re short on time or don’t have the energy to get dressed.

Equestrian Style

You don’t know how many times I was asked where’s my horse or told that I looked like a jockey. I took it in stride. I am really fond of this look. The pants are a good alternative to leggings. They are slim fitting and have a bit of stretch in them. They were ridiculously comfortable and I didn’t feel self-conscious wearing them. I had enough coverage from the blazer and top I wore underneath it. I think any horse would be pleased to have such a well-dressed jockey :)

Blazers and Stripes

I wanted to achieve a professional appearance but still be able to incorporate my style. I decided to go for this navy blazer. I’m crazy about the fit. I paired it with my boy fit button down shirt for a smart look. I like the combination of  taupe and navy in this skirt and thought it looked becoming with the blazer.  I added the ankle boots and leggings to add warmth to my look. And there you go.

What is now vintage was once brand new

My love for vintage clothing continues. I picked up this vest at a local thrift store. I’m a sucker for velvet and lace and luckily this vest contains both of those components. I modernized the vest by coupling it  with leggings and boots. I admire the fine craftsmanship used to  fabricate this vest. This vest is about 20 years old and still looks like new. They don’t make clothing like they use to…

Everything I buy is vintage and smells funny. Maybe that’s why I don’t have a boyfriend.”- Lucy Liu
