Celebrity Copy

I saw this photo of celebrity Stylist, June Ambrose in Essence. I thought it was glam and edgy. I immediately thought of a way to copy cat this look. While I don’t own a denim jumper, I do own a pair of F21 jeans with removable suspenders. I love the slouchy boyfriend fit of these jeans (they feel too comfortable to look so good). I own a few chambrays which are handy and unbelievably versatile. This H&M vest has proven to be very valuable. It can instantly glamorize any look. I finished off this look with heels and a silk scarf that I tied in a bow for my headpiece.
Why couldn’t I think of this look on my own?

How do you think I did? Did I successfully copy this look?

H&M to Release its Dragon Tattoo Collection

H&M is dropping its Dragon Tattoo line in the very near future (12/14). It’s gritty and rough. There are tattered tees, leather pants, and torn jeans. Essentials to pull off Lisbeth’s look.  Whoever thought of this concept is a genius. This is marketing at its best. I can foresee this collection being very popular. After all The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has sold over $15 million copies in the US. The flick is slated to be released on 12/21.

Brunch Anyone?

I love brunch. You’re not restricted to only ordering breakfast items. You can also indulge in heavier more filling foods. I love being able to order waffles or a burger. You can’t forget about the delightful brunch cocktails. Whether you order a Mimosa or Bloody Mary you will be able to satisfy your hankering.

Though I had the urge to throw on blue jeans and t-shirt I chose these black skinnys and charming top. I accessorized to add a little pizzazz to my look. I still was able to maintain a relaxed look without wearing my sweats.

A Thing for Denim

I’ve always been a little crazed over denim. I can backtrack through my fashion timeline and identify different trends in denim that I obsessed over. When I was a child I much-loved my paint splashed and cross color dungarees, as a teen I practically lived in my oversized skater denims, and a couple of years later I flipped for the distressed, torn, and worn look. Now I am fanatical over skinnies and trouser jeans. Yesterday I opted for this cute cropped denim jacket. It really pulled my look together. Without it I would’ve looked too casual.

Has anyone else noticed the outrageous prices of jeans? www.denimjeans.com reported that retailers have increased prices to offset the increased cost of cotton. While prices may be hard on our wallets this weekend the Gap has a 40% off Labor Day Sale. This includes denim. www.gap.com

Casual Friday

This morning it was particularly hard for me to drag myself out of bed. After I realized that it is Friday I was more than happy to get out of bed. There is something about Fridays that are energizing.  Maybe it because of countless possibilities of things to do over the next two days or maybe it’s because I usually wear comfy clothing to work aka jeans. Today I’m wearing my American Eagle jeans and Imaginary Voyage top I picked up from Marshalls. Both aren’t too formfitting which makes it hard to feel insecure about your physique. I do love the way the jeans fit my hips and how the legs are long and flare out as they graze the floor. I’m also wearing turquoise colored jewelry that my sister bought me when she was vacationing in the Dominican Republic. It’s the Larimar stone which is the national stone of The Dominican Republic. They can only be found there. It might be hard to see them. I’ll try to get better shots of them up here later.

I hope that everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend! If you are in an area that may be affected by Hurricane Irene be sure to pick up a few basic necessities from your local store.
